Midhill Vineyard is in the Macedon Ranges Wine Region of Central Victoria, two minutes from Romsey and ten minutes east of Hanging Rock. Premium cool climate fruit is grown to produce Sparkling Macedon Blanc de Blancs, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Pinot noir and Rosé
Plantings: Chardonnay was planted in 1993 and Gewürztraminer and Pinot noir in 2001. Area under vine - total 6.5 acresThe site is on fertile, basaltic soil, 540m elevation with a sloping NE aspect. Our viticulture follows organic principals with the intention of producing premium cool climate wines. A program of improving the soils using biological inputs is followed. Expert local winemakers make our fruit into quality wines that express the high altitude and truly cool climate of the Macedon Ranges, giving them a real sense of place.
Flagship wines: Our Sparkling Blanc de Blancs has won several trophies including the Vic. Wine Show “Premier’s Choice” awards of 2022 and 2023. The Pinot noir 2017 was a finalist in 2018.
